Children and teenagers can struggle with mental health issues just the same as adults. In the U.S., more than 16 percent of kids under age 11 – or one out of six – experience a mental health disorder such as depression, anxiety, or substance abuse. Yet nearly half do not receive treatment.*

The good news is, children’s mental health programs can prevent more severe, lasting problems as kids get older. That’s why it’s so important to get help as early as possible.

We offer help to children and teens ages 11 – 18. And we offer hope to kids and their families.

What We Treat

It can be tough to know if you have a mental health disorder, especially when you’re a teenager or younger. These years can be challenging for anyone.

But it’s not uncommon for symptoms of potentially serious illnesses to first show during adolescence. These conditions are painful, dangerous, and frightening.

We treat children and teens with:

Our facility provides a safe, secure space where kids can grow and heal, where they can learn skills that will help them for the rest of their lives.

What Treatment Programs Look Like

At Triangle Springs facilities, kids participate in programs designed specifically for them. They’re cared for by a team of mental health professionals who are trained in working with children and teens. All of our programs include an educational component so that kids can keep up with their schoolwork.

Outpatient treatment

Our outpatient services for ages ages 11–18 include:

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP):

  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Activity-based therapies such as art, music, and yoga
  • Skill-building rooted in evidence-based practices, including DBT

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP):

  • Group and individual therapy sessions
  • Recreational therapy
  • Medication management, when appropriate

We collaborate closely with local schools and teachers to ensure continuity in education. When a child is ready to return to school, we work with families and educators to make the process smooth and supportive.

How to Get Started

The first step is a comprehensive mental health assessment at our facility. During this assessment, we gather information about your child’s symptoms, history, and needs. We also provide orientation for parents and answer questions about what to expect in treatment.

Assessments can be scheduled by phone or chat 24/7.

After the assessment, our team will work with your family to create a personalized treatment plan based on your child’s goals and clinical needs.
